The UPWHA (formerly UPWHA) is dedicated to
promoting a naturally gaited pleasure walking horse. We do not believe in
mechanical or artificial "aids" to effect or enhance the naturally balanced and
fluid gaits of the horse, and any shoeing with the intent to alter or enhance
gait or performance is prohibited. We believe shoeing only for hoof protection
and preservation.
Our purpose is to demonstrate to the world what
sound breeding, natural horsemanship and pure training can produce in the
naturally gaited
pleasure walking horse. We invite like-minded individuals to join us in
our endeavors and in celebration of the best pleasure horse in the world:
the
Naturally Gaited Pleasure Walking Horse.
